Enclosure of a wooden frame type is used in the four season sunroom. Batt roll insulation made of mineral fiber which comprises of either processed fiberglass or rock wool is used in the walls. Besides insulating the walls they can also be used in the ceiling of the sunroom. For effective performance it has to be installed very carefully and is one of the cheapest of all insulating materials. The other type of insulation material is the over batts rigid foam board which can be installed within the interior of the sunrooms walls. High insulating value is provided by this insulation and the foam boards are available in several thicknesses. For higher comfort levels within the entire house it is always better to insulated the sunrooms, so that you also have the air-conditioning and heating system too extended in the house.
As far as the two and three sunrooms are concerned insulation is normally required as they are used only in specific seasons like spring, summer and winter. During winter time two and three season sunrooms are practically not used and also are not designed to get heated. There is no need to arrange anything to prevent the loss of heat.
